Final Days at RBC

Graduation is quickly approaching on May 10. My  two years at RBC are coming to a cease. I really enjoyed my time here at RBC, though I really thought I wouldn't. In August I will be starting to work on my dreams as becoming a Neonatal nurse Practitioner. I was accepted to Radford University as a Nursing major. I am excited for my new beginning at a new school, but I also know that it is going to take a lot of hard work. Well, that's all!!! Have a great summer!!

Overall experience

Overall, I enjoyed my experience in Sweeney's English 102 class. It was a pretty enjoyable course. The only thing I did not enjoy was the writing and the reading part, but without that, I guess it would not be an English class.

Favorite Reading

Though, I detest reading, there were a couple of readings in 102 that I actually  enjoyed.  I love the "Cask of "Amontillado," I remember reading it, and watching the movie from English class in high school.I also enjoyed reading, "A Good Man is Hard to Find". The characters in that story made me enjoy it, especially the grandmother. I also kind of enjoyed reading the Glass Menagerie.

essay 4

I have finally decided what I am going to write about for essay. I have decided that I am going to write about the novel, A Child Called it, and the screenplay, Precious. Both movies share similar aspects despite the difference between the two genres. Both characters and story lines are similar. They both are being abused by their parents, but they both have different pathways out. Well, That's all for this week!

Week 4/8-4/12

This week in English we were going to talk about the novel The Great Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. However, hardly anyone in class finished reading the novel. I did not finish reading the novel, but I did Google the the book and from what I read it seems like an interesting book and when I do find time once the semester is over I am going to go a read the novel. Also, we received a new essay assignment and as always I do not know what I am going to write about. Well, see you later.

week 3/1

This week in English we started to draft and write our essay of our choice. I am still unsure on what I am going to write about. This week we also had to read the dog poems  I did not really find any of them interesting, I do not like poems really.Well, bye until next week.

Poems

This week we are once again, discussing poems. I personally, did not like any of the poems this week. Probably because most of them are too long. I really despise long poems. Well, anyways my group had to discuss the poem Lines. The poem was about four pages long. I really did not understand the poem, I got that he was revisiting Tintern Abbey, but I thought his sister was dead and not there with him. The group also thought the same as I did. Well, that is all for this week!

Essay

This week in English we are writing and peer reviewing our essays. I am writing my essay on symbolism used in the Glass Menagerie.  Some symbols that I could think of was the unicorn, fire escape, and glass. I am thinking about changing my topic to how all the characters escape because I can not think of anymore symbols. Well that is all for now!

This week in English we played jeopardy. My team, The Flaming Dragons won, of course!! I am still unsure on what I'm going to write my paper on, and its due in 2 days!! LOl

This week

This week I did not really like any of the readings except for A Good Man is Hard to Find. I actually enjoyed that reading. As for the other two readings, I did not get them and thought they were weird.

Cask of Amontillado

I actually liked reading The Cask of Amontillado. I read it previously in high school and also watched the video. I am just confused on why he was mad at Fortunato.
